TOSHIBA AMERICA BUSINESS SOLUTIONS INC. SECURES CERTIFIED FOR WINDOWS VISTA LOGO FOR E-STUDIO™2500C/3500C/3510C MULTIFUNCTION PRODUCT SUITE

Advanced Media Support and Increased Security Features Expand Functionality and Value to Award-Winning Multifunction Products
PRESS RELEASE Aug 27, 2007

Toshiba America Business Solutions Inc. (TABS) today announced that the award-winning e-STUDIO™2500c/3500c/3510c multifunction product (MFP) series earned the coveted Certified for Windows Vista logo in the imaging devices category. The e-STUDIO™2500c/3500c/3510c series now allows for extended flexibility in transporting office files, allowing users to scan and print Microsoft’s new XPS file format directly to and from the MFP. Additionally, the series is now capable of printing on a wider range of paper stock, and is compatible with Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6) features.

“Products that carry the Certified for Windows Vista logo have met explicit standards of reliability and quality, and have been tested and proved to deliver a superior experience with Windows Vista,” said Dave Wascha, director of Windows Client Product Management at Microsoft Corp. “We are extremely pleased that the Toshiba TEC e-STUDIO™2500c/3500c/3510c series carries the certified logo and takes advantage of the new technologies available in Windows Vista such as XPS and WSD.”

Working closely with Microsoft, Toshiba’s new e-BRIDGE solution provides Windows Vista-specific printing enhancements in the form of XPS Print Path drivers, Windows Color System support and Windows Vista WS print and scan support, while remaining 100 percent backwards-compatible with existing deployments. This XPS format integration offers full printer functionality and enables users to print 2007 Microsoft Office system documents directly to the MFP without the wasted overhead of file conversion. Unique to the e-STUDIO™2500c/3500c/3510c, this native XPS support also allows users to print XPS format files from a USB memory drive directly to the MFP without a computer.

“Toshiba is very proud to work hand-in-hand with Microsoft in supporting the business world with expanded features for our products,” said Mark Mathews, vice president and general manager, Electronic Imaging Division for TABS. “Earning the Certified for Windows Vista logo for our multifunction products is a powerful endorsement that we're being successful in achieving our goal of providing value-added solutions and support to our end customers.”

Capacity Improvements and Enhanced Security

TABS has enhanced the e-STUDIO™2500c/3500c/3510c with increased media support. The cassettes now can hold and automatically duplex up to 140-pound index paper. Light production environments now can take advantage of a wider range of paper styles, thickness and selection, without having to use specialized equipment or an offsite service.
With the integration of PDF encryption, the e-STUDIO™2500c/3500c/3510c now can scan and print secure PDF files directly from the MFP in multiple environments,
from a typical office network to portable USB memory drive. Scanned files also can be password-protected and shielded with 128-bit RC4 encryption, providing quick, safe and secure transfer and printing of sensitive files.
The enhanced e-BRIDGE solutions currently are available as a free firmware and print driver upgrade to new and existing customers. Please contact your authorized Toshiba dealer for details.
