New Clean-Sheet e-STUDIO™ Product Offerings Provide End-Customer with Best-In-Class Color Printing at Monochrome Print Speeds
IRVINE , California ( Jul 29, 2008 ) :
Toshiba America Business Solutions Inc. (TABS) announced today that its new flagship mid- and high-volume color multifunction products (MFP) will be on display at the ninth annual EFI Connect conference, July 29-Aug. 1 at the Wynn Las Vegas. The first public showing for these newly designed high-speed color MFPs, the flagship e-STUDIO™6520c and e-STUDIO4520c models provide multi-user offices and mid- to high-volume printing environments with print speeds of up to 65 pages-per-minute (PPM) and 45 PPM respectively, while still delivering crisp and clean color printing. Developed completely in-house by Toshiba, each product family features Toshiba’s next generation e-BRIDGE™ controller for efficient processing and multi-tasking, and a new Easily Replaceable Unit design, keeping maintenance downtime to an absolute minimum for maximum productivity.
“Color has revolutionized the way that organizations conduct business today, and color is no longer the sole province of the large-sized organization,” said Joseph Contreras, director, Product and Solutions Marketing, TABS. “All businesses want and need color to help their companies stand apart in their marketplace, and Toshiba’s new e-STUDIO6520c and e-STUDIO4520c MFPs allow them to do just that, with monochrome-comparable print speeds, competitive cost-per-page and exceptional color quality. Unveiling our new color line-up at the EFI Connect 2008 conference is a natural fit.”
On display at booth 202 in the main exhibit hall, Toshiba’s new e-STUDIO5520c/6520c/6530c series of color MFPs are the fastest and most advanced color product line the company has ever created. Its clean-sheet design takes a radical new approach responding to the needs of today’s high-volume users, multi-user offices and lightweight production environments. The new Toshiba high-volume color line features a large, adjustable 10.4 Super VGA touch screen for quick and easy access to copying, printing, scanning, faxing and e-filing features, and a new two-part developer delivery system that automatically replenishes developer into the system as new toner is introduced, eliminating the need to install or maintain developer for the projected life of the MFP.
For businesses with less demanding print volume needs, Toshiba’s e-STUDIO2830c/3530c/4520c family of MFPs brings the same color printing technology from the e-STUDIO5520c/6520c/6530c series to the mid-volume color segment. The series provides businesses with smaller output needs, the same crisp, clean prints and outstanding image quality as their high-volume counterparts.
Integrated into both the mid- and high-volume product series, Toshiba’s next generation e-BRIDGE controller takes document security to the next level by featuring integrated Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) hard disk encryption, IPv6, IPSec, SNMPv3 and 802.1x authentication, protecting the document workflow all the way to the network. Both the e-STUDIO5520c/6520c/6530c and e-STUDIO2830c/3530c/4520c series includes Secure PDF, enabling users to password-protect documents when creating scanned PDFs, to prevent unauthorized viewing or printing. In addition to their security similarities, the new color MFP series support printing from and scanning to a USB flash storage drive, and support full-color banner printing of sizes as large as 12 inches wide and 47 inches long.
Toshiba’s new Easily Replaceable Unit (ERU) technology ensures businesses the ability to stay running at full capacity, reducing the time spent replacing supplies and maintenance parts of the system. The ERU system keeps document workflow at a consistent rate, allowing for improved serviceability and less downtime for end-users.
The Toshiba e-STUDIO5520c/6520c/6530c MFP series is scheduled to launch late August, and the e-STUDIO2830c/3530c/4520c color MFP product family is immediately at NorthStar. Call Fred!!

TOSHIBA CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY AWARD WINNERS
Two Toshiba Business Solutions Subsidiaries Recognized For Exceptional Contributions to Their Community Jul 28, 2008
Toshiba Business Solutions (TBS) revealed today that two of its subsidiaries have won the inaugural Toshiba Corporate Social Responsibility Award: Toshiba Business Solutions-FL/GA and Toshiba Business Solutions-NY. This newly established award is the company’s first internal honor recognizing the commitment and dedication of Toshiba’s wholly-owned businesses to improving the communities where they work and live. In recognition, $10,000 will be granted to the local charity of each company’s choice on their behalf.
“As a global citizen, Toshiba encourages all of its companies to give back and improve our loyal community,” said Wayne Wilkinson, vice president and general manager, TBS. “We are exceptionally proud to be able to single-out these TBS subsidiaries for their time and contributions to so many deserving organizations. Congratulations to both outstanding winners: TBS-FL/GA and TBS-NY!”
TBS continually challenges its regional and local subsidiaries to give back to their local communities, and the Toshiba Corporate Social Responsibility award is the culmination of that ideal. Over the course of six months, TBS branch offices document their local support through event sponsorships, financial support, employee volunteer time, coordination of fund raisers or by serving on the boards of local charities. Once submitted, a group of TBS corporate employees review the results and single-out the company that has done the most within their local community. Over the past six months, TBS-FL/GA and TBS-NY each participated in more than 70 local charity events, each logged over 1,500 employee volunteer hours, and donated a combined total of more than $200,000 to local charities. TBS intends to establish the Toshiba Corporate Social Responsibility award on a semi-annual basis moving forward.
TBS-NY will be contributing its $10,000 donation to St. Joseph’s Villas of Rochester, which is an organization that supports youth, families and the community by caring for children in crisis. TBS-FL/GA will be contributing its $10,000 donation to Veterans Helping Today’s Returning Heroes, a non-profit organization created to provide guide or service dogs and training to veterans and active military personnel who have been wounded in the global war on terrorism.
